The 2008 Pinot Noir Doctor’s Vineyard comes from vines planted at 1,200-feet elevation, resulting in a dark ruby wine with forest floor, raspberry, and black cherry notes, a hint of earth, and medium body. Although a little richer than the other cuvees, it is still made in a formulaic style where all the wines resemble one another more than they should. That said, the Doctor’s Vineyard is one of my favorites of the portfolio and should drink nicely for 5-6 years.
Winery owners Rob and Diana Jensen, along with winemaker Bill Brosseau, make a mind-boggling number of different wines, and the 2008s are among the strongest wines I have tasted from them. There are seven different Chardonnays, and I am not even sure that covers the entire portfolio of this winery.
