The 2006 Bembibre was produced from 85-year-old vines with malolactic fermentation in new French oak followed by 15 months of aging. Brooding black fruits, exotic spices, floral notes, and an earthy minerality inform the nose of this rich, opulent, nicely proportioned Mencia. It has the structure to evolve for 2-3 years and will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2021. The latest releases from Dominio de Tares are uniformly outstanding.
