The 2013 Pommard Les Grands Epenots has a slight more reserved, perhaps more tertiary bouquet than the Volnay Santenots, adorned with a subtle marine influence that lurks in the background. The palate is medium-bodied and tensile on the entry. It is underpinned by a crisp line of acidity with nicely integrated oak toward the finish that, at the moment, is based upon black fruit rather than red. Perhaps a little short, but harmonious and promising once bottled.
