The 2012 Rosso di Montalcino is an easygoing wine with slightly green shadings of tomato leaf and garden herb at the back of red fruit, spice and leather. The wine is not overtly intense, but it does have the low-key personality and acidity to pair with gnocchi or cheese ravioli. Drink: 2014-2017.
Campogiovanni is the Montalcino estate of the historic Chianti Classico producer San Felice based in Castelnuovo Berardenga. I noticed that a couple of the samples I received listed the producer as "San Felice" on the label.
