Aromas of dried orange rind, plums, sweet soil tones and spices mingle with hints of dried rose petals and potpourri, introducing Drouhin's 1980 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches (Domaine), a medium to full-bodied, supple and elegantly fleshy wine with melting tannins and lively acids. Perfumed and elegant, this is one of the most sensual, charming reds of the vintage in the C?te de Beaune. The 1980 Clos des Mouches was pressed with the Drouhin's old wooden wine press and wasn't chaptalized, and it comes in at a mere 11.8% alcohol.
