Moving into the Bordeaux varieties, the 2009 Cuvee Arlette checks in as a blend of 57% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Petit Verdot and Malbec. Aged for 30 months in French oak, it delivers the hallmark purity and elegance of the estate with notions of coffee bean, vanilla and charred meat nicely balanced by lively red and black berry-styled fruit qualities. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a suave, seamless texture, excellent purity of fruit and good mid-palate concentration, it fleshes out nicely on the finish with ripe tannin. Singing with about an hour of air, it will impress for 10-12 years, possibly longer. Drink now-2021.
