The 2009 Sinforiano Reserva is in bottle and due to be released later this year. Raised in 60% French and 40% American oak, it offers a generous bouquet of raspberry preserve and strawberry, with hints of marmalade originating from the precocity of the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with mocha-tinged dark berry fruit, the American component in the driving seat at the moment, though that will be assimilated with time. It has a smooth texture – no rough edges here, and the hints of soy lend a pleasant edginess towards the finish. Drink 2015-2020.
