The 1990 Savigny-Batailliere exhibits a rich, black-cherry, smoky nose, deep, fat, concentrated flavors, moderate tannins, crisp acidity, and a spicy finish. It requires 2-3 years of cellaring and should keep for 10-15 years.
Francoise Choppin bottled her 1990s relatively early, in November, 1991, and I have had the opportunity to taste through them twice. While they were impressive immediately after bottling, they have recently closed up. It should be noted that the Albert Morot red burgundies are among the most reasonably priced.
