The nose of the 2016 Clos Figueres transports me to the Priorats from the turn of the century, with those aromas of wet slate and graphite. It's earthy and rustic, with abundant, dusty tannins and a full-bodied palate with ripe fruit flavors. It finishes dry and with abundant tannins.

This concentrated red offers nice purity to the ripe cherry, boysenberry and plum notes, accented with anise, cola and violet elements. Hints of orange peel, white pepper and balsamic dovetail on the finish, with fleshy tannins. Drink now through 2028. 450 cases made, 200 cases imported.??–GS??Region: Spain / Priorat Select to Add
