The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is evolving fast and already shows low-intensity tones of dried hay, honey and candied fruit. The alcohol (13.5% stated on the sample submission form) also seems very apparent and somewhat unbalanced. The wine does deliver a few fruity zingers in the mouth, but not enough to place hope in a long aging future. Drink: 2015-2018.
