Villa Poggio Salvi’s 2003 Brunello di Montalcino possesses plenty of super-ripe fruit intermingled with sweet toasted oak, menthol and cherries. It is an attractive Brunello, with most of its charm in an accessible, up-front personality that almost resembles a Rosso for its freshness. The depth and complexity are those of an excellent, rather than outstanding, wine. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.
