The big, broad, rich 2001 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru reveals lush layers of cherry fruit. This concentrated, intense, medium-bodied wine has outstanding purity, a silky texture, and a long finish that displays an intriguing mineral underpinning. Anticipated maturity: now-2009. The Lecheneaut brothers, Philippe and Vincent, have a distinct preference for the 2000s over the 2001s.
