The 2009 Pinot Grigio comes across as rather lean, focused and energetic. This isn’t an easygoing Pinot Grigio, but rather a wine built on a core of serious minerality. Crushed rocks, lime and mint linger on the precise, crystalline finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012.
This is a terrific set of entry-level wines from Tramin. The whites see only steel and do not undergo malolactic fermentation.
