The 2008 Saint George is, of course, Agiorgitiko. Skouras likes to translate the grape's name into English. This bottling in Skouras' lineup is an excellent value point in most years, and it might be the best bargain of the Skouras wines reviewed this issue, if you accept it for what it is. It is always quite modest in mid-palate concentration, but it drinks beautifully, has a bright, sunny demeanor and some structure, with ripe tannins, and seems rather pure and fresh. At its price point, it is a nice buy for a house pour and early consumption, a charming introduction to Agiorgitiko. It is at peak now. Drink now-2013. Importer: Diamond Importers, Chicago, IL; tel.
