This estate appears to be making an effort to produce higher quality wines. The 1996 reveals a deceptively light ruby color, along with ripe fruit (cherries) and toasty new oak in the nose. It is a pretty, elegant wine with medium body, and an unmistakable cherry flavor component. Readers should think of this as a Pomerol modeled along the lines of De Sales. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
