From a cool Sonoma Coast vineyard, the light gold-colored 1999 Chardonnay Thieriot Vineyard displays a deep color, and is a tight, backward Chardonnay. With enticing potential, it is loaded with extract and richness, exhibiting notes of ripe oranges, minerals, smoky, over-ripe lemons, and a clove/hazelnut character in its scents and flavors. Full-bodied, with good underlying acidity, and nicely-integrated, toasty oak, it cuts a broad swath across the palate. Young and unevolved, it requires another six months of bottle age, and should drink well for 4-5 years.Tel. (707) 963-8840; Fax (707) 963-8894
