The 2012 Font de la Figuera showed better than the 2011 which revealed the heat and ripeness of the vintage. Even though 2012 was also warm and dry, the wines seem to have retained good freshness within a ripe style. It is a blend of Garnacha and Cari?ena with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The élevage is still a little too apparent in the spicy, smoky aromas that are marked by a predominance of cloves, vanilla and cinnamon plus an end note of dark chocolate. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with dusty tannins that have a slightly rustic character. The wine aged for one year in 500- to 600-liter oak barrels. 6,970 bottles were produced.
