A pretty, mid-weight effort, the 2011 Syrah Ampelos Vineyard has complex and perfumed floral, spice, pepper and hints of underbrush all emerging on the nose. Medium-bodied, elegant and supple, with a core of sweet fruit, it-s a delicious, classy wine that won’t make old bones. Enjoy it over the coming 4-5 years. Drink now-2019.

The 2011 Syrah Ampelos Vineyard is fabulous. A blast of dark blue/purplish fruit, savory herbs, mint, leather and black pepper burst from the glass in a rich, explosive Syrah that brings together savory notes from the cool site along with superb richness and depth. All the elements fall into place gracefully. The Ampelos was vinified with 100% destemmed fruit. Drinking window: 2014 – 2021
