The 2001 Condrieu La Galopine is a fruity, light-styled, tank-fermented wine. It offers excellent peach, apricot, and honeysuckle-like fruit in a crisp, medium-bodied, pure, fresh style. Enjoy it over the next 12-16 months. The 2001 white wines possess good aromatics, medium body, and zesty, refreshing acidity. A bit unfocused, but full-bodied and thick-textured. Some nice honey, milk chocolate, lemon, dried fruit (apricot, peach and fig). A smooth Viognier, with a mineral touch on the lingering finish. Well-made. Drink now through 2010. 1,100 cases made. -PM

A dry, citrusy wine, and very youthful. Fresh young acids scour the palate, carrying flavors of lime and tobacco, although there are richer stone fruit notes buried deep. Not a big wine, but elegant. The acids will preserve it if you choose to cellar for five years.——S.H.(1/1/2002)—— 89
