Ruby-colored, the Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses possesses lovely, sweet, refined aromatics of red currants and violets and a thick, massively endowed, slightly gamey, blueberry and cassis-packed personality intertwined with touches of raw meat. This wine's oak was not well-integrated when I tasted it. Will it be resolved at the time of bottling? It will be at its best between 2000-2009.This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. The wine was tasted from cask, not bottle. Pinot Noir, a fragile varietal, reacts poorly to fining, filtration, and careless bottling techniques, I recommend caution when considering buying a red burgundy based on cask samples.
