The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel Air has a more candied bouquet than the Gevrey Perrières '13, if not quite the same penetration or precision. The palate is elegant and pure with hints of orange peel infusing the red cherry and strawberry fruit, leading to an almost confit like finish. This is an absolute delight out of barrel, as I hope it will be in bottle.
