Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the medium-bodied 2009 Pinot Noir has dark cherry and raspberry aromas with some loam and tree bark. Crisp with medium acidity and a medium level of chewy tannins, it has a good amount of mid-palate fruit and a long finish. Drinking well now, it should keep its fruit through 2013. Cooralook is a range of well priced wines developed by Yabby Lake Winery, which has branched out from Mornington Peninsula to produce regionally expressive wines from the Strathbogie Ranges and Heathcote. Adeptly forged by winemaker Tom Carson, formerly of Yering Station, these wines offer very good value.Importer: Yabby Lake Vineyard Inc., Lafayette, CA; tel. (925) 962-9229
