The Fishers have gone back to a Cabernet Sauvignon designation for their Coach Insignia. The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia benefitted from the fact that both the Lamb and Wedding Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons were declassified in 1998, and the wine was blended into the Coach Insignia. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 11% Merlot, aged in 50% new French oak, it possesses a dark ruby color, a big, chocolatey, licorice, and black currant-scented nose, and tannin in the finish. It has certainly sweetened up considerably and is showing better out of the bottle than it did from barrel. Look for it to drink well for 10-12 years. (Release date, 02/01)Tel.
