The medium to dark-ruby-colored 2000 Pommard Les Grands Epenots Vieilles Vignes offers intense aromas of smoky black fruits. This concentrated, backward wine is jam-packed with black cherries, blackberries, and cassis. Armed with impressive depth, it is an outstanding, medium-bodied wine that would have earned even more praise were it not for a stemmy/woody flavor that crept up in the finish.
