The 2012 La Planta is 100% Tempranillo with six months aging in barrel. It shows ripe black fruit, marked by the oak with a note of clove. The palate is full-bodied (a bit too much for a young, easy–to-drink wine?) with abundant tannins, marked by the oak, ending with chocolate, toffee and espresso coffee flavors. A commercial success. Drink now.
Arzuaga-Navarro offers a parade of very well-crafted, well-oaked commercial wines of great success. The Amaya label feels different, though.
