The 2021 Chardonnay is inchoate but possessed of the same austere yet juicy acid line that is present in all the Chardonnays at this estate. The fruit is delicate and saline and swarms around the phenolic structure. It is estery, floral and lacy. Time will do much to unfurl this wine; in the meantime, drink the 2020.

Succulent and intense, with dried pineapple, honeycomb, jasmine and Fuji apple flavors that are fresh and juicy, with details of dried ginger and a touch of crunchy sea salt on the finish. There is tropical fruit on the nose of the 2020 Chardonnay. The palate, however, is littered with juicy acidity making for a helluva moreish ride. This has excellent balance, piercing intensity and scintillating drive. Bravo! Yum.

The 2019 Chardonnay is taut, saline and edgy, with lanolin and cheesecloth woven into the very fabric of the fruit. There are also notes of preserved lemon and brine. Super smart. Needs time.
