2008 Wakefield St Andrews Chardonnay has a good intensity of stone fruit, cream, meal and apple tart aromas. Medium bodied with plenty peach and pear flavors and refreshing acidity, it gives a long creamy finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2014+.
Known as Taylors in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Wakefield is the name this winery has had to adopt for the North American and European markets due to a clash with another winery of the same name. Therefore American readers should look out for Wakefield labels while those residing in Oceania look for Taylors…of Australia that is.
