The 2014 Wakefield St Andrews Chardonnay is quite oaky on the nose offering up notes of buttered toast, baked apples and spiced pears. Light to medium-bodied, the oak remains prominent on the otherwise satiny palate and finishes long and woody with a buttery note.

The 2012 St Andrews Chardonnay unfurls aromas of warm apricots, guava and passion fruit with underlying notes of cashews, baking bread and butterscotch. Medium-bodied it possesses a lovely silky texture and mouth-filling tropical flavors complemented by cream and toast notes that carry through the long finish. Drink it now to 2017+. 2008 Wakefield St Andrews Chardonnay has a good intensity of stone fruit, cream, meal and apple tart aromas. Medium bodied with plenty peach and pear flavors and refreshing acidity, it gives a long creamy finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2014+. Known as Taylors in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Wakefield is the name this winery has had to adopt for the North American and European markets due to a clash with another winery of the same name. Therefore American readers should look out for Wakefield labels while those residing in Oceania look for Taylors…of Australia that is.
