The 2012 Pinot Noir Deux Verres Reserve is a barrel selection from purchased and estate fruit, matured for around 20 months in oak, around 20% new oak. The bouquet is nicely defined with slightly darker fruit than the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: black cherries, Tiptree strawberry jam and a touch of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with good density, slightly grainy in texture, the acidity well judged with a lively, cracked black pepper finish. Excellent.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Deux Verres is a barrel selection. It displays more concentration than the Willamette Valley cuvee, good balance, and medium length. This savory offering will be at its best over the next 6-8 years. Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald and Margie Olson. The 2008 Pinot Noir Deux Verres Reserve is a blend of 7 vineyards. It sports an expressive nose that jumps from the glass. A bit more structured as well as more compact on the palate than the preceding wines, it nevertheless has very good concentration and balance.
