The 2008 Pinot Noir Deux Verres Reserve is a blend of 7 vineyards. It sports an expressive nose that jumps from the glass. A bit more structured as well as more compact on the palate than the preceding wines, it nevertheless has very good concentration and balance. A few years of additional cellaring may well make its current score look conservative. Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald and Margie Olson. Immediately juicy, with a rough mix of flavors that run from pomegranate and sour wild berry to sweet tomato and herb. But the nose is more complex and integrated, showing some dusty barrel notes, and suggesting that with time this will settle into a polished bottle. ——P.G.(6/1/2011)—— 88
