The 2009 Pinot Grigio is one of Australia’s better examples of this increasingly ubiquitous grape. Picked relatively early, it came in at 12.5% alcohol with 1/6 of the wine aged in puncheons. On the nose, it has pretty honeyed white peach and pear slice aromas with a whiff of crushed stones. Medium-bodied with medium-high acid, this is nicely balanced with a long finish. Drink it now to 2013. Husband and wife team Steve and Monique Lubiana are at the helm of this small, family run operation just north of Hobart. The estate has been organically managed for 7-8 years and is in the process of converting to biodynamics. Average annual production is around 10,000 cases.No known US importer.
