The 2018 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc starts with a dark red-fruited nose with elements of plum skin, dark cherry and dusty red flowers with soft savory elements. Medium to full-bodied, the palate shows a delightful mineral tension with succulent tannins and a balanced mix of oak and fruit expression. The wine concludes with a long, juicy, mineral-laced finish.

Bursting from the glass with a dynamic varietal profile, the 2017 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc opens to a nose with cherry skin, black plum, redcurrant and cassis with a classic aroma of roasted red bell pepper, fresh sage and hints of leather and oak spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is balanced, delineated and precise with a magnificent mouthfeel that is food-friendly and displays a gorgeous Cabernet Franc expression with energetic acidity and lifting tannins. Concluding with a classic, juicy and peppery finish, this is one wine that you'll want to keep an eye out for if you are a Cabernet Franc lover. Just under 5,500 bottles were filled.

The 2016 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc smells and tastes just like a juicy Chinon from the Loire Valley. The wine starts with classic aromas of luxurious plummy notes on the nose, with a blackberry essence and undertones of fresh-cut green bell pepper. The medium to full-bodied wine shows a pleasing complexity on the palate, with classic core a dusty fruit and soft oak tones that could convert just about anyone to a Cabernet Franc lover. It ends with a long, bold, spicy finish with focused tannins. 458 cases produced.

Wafting from the glass with notes of dusty cassis and berry fruit, the 2015 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc is medium-bodied, juicy and youthfully chewy and lacking a bit of concentration and depth. It's the most pedestrian of these offerings from Spring Valley Vineyard.

Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc offers up a slightly reductive style and has lots of herbal characteristics, dark chocolate, black fruits and hints of meatiness. It's impressive on the palate and has medium to full-bodied richness, no hard edges, integrated acidity and plenty of flavor authority. Give bottles a year or two and enjoy over the following decade.
