All dry-grown, ungrafted vines planted in 1991. Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2015 Pinot Noir Muirfield Vineyard displays a profoundly scented nose of kirsch, raspberry tart and pomegranate juice with nuances of wild thyme, red roses, damp loam and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate with intense red berry and earth flavors, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and loads of freshness. It finishes with great length and depth.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Muirfield Vineyard has a long history as a separate vineyard from Hawks View, but has since been absorbed even if the original fencing remains. The fruit here was fully destemmed and there is 35% new French oak. The fruit is darker than the Hawks View Vineyard Pinot Noir with mulberry complementing the brambly red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with orange zest and a tang of marmalade that tincture a supple core of red berries. The tannins gently grip the mouth, though it does not quite possess the persistence on the finish that I was anticipating. Still, overall this is a satisfying Pinot Noir that should age well over 7-10 years

The 2012 Pinot Noir Muirfield Vineyard is the most Burgundian in the lineup, with its raspberry, flowers, forest floor and rose-petal aromas and flavors all front and center. Seamless, pure, classy and elegant, it’s gorgeous Pinot Noir to drink over the coming 4-6 years, possibly longer. This comes from younger vines and Dijon clones, and saw 16 months in French oak.

The 2006 Pinot Noir Muirfield Vineyard is medium ruby-colored with herbaceous notes intruding upon the otherwise attractive cherry and raspberry aromas.
