The 2021 Shiraz leads with blackberry jam and cracked black pepper (which is crazy given the cool climate, but it's there), raspberry, cracked fennel seeds and black olive brine. In the mouth, the wine is supple and silky, with ripe fruit flavors littered throughout. It has fine, pliable tannins, and there is a profusion of dried herbs through the finish. It matured for 15 months in barrel prior to barrel selection and blending. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

This 2020 Shiraz is leafy and refreshing and spiny and fine, with a fine web of tannins that lace together the palate. It is really nicely handled, with a matcha/green tea character through the finish.

Sidewood's 2018 Shiraz leads with notes of cracked pepper and tobacco, then adds black cherries and blueberries to the mix. It's medium to full-bodied and decently concentrated, with attractive notions of campfire smoke on the lingering finish. Nicely done.

Medium to deep garnet/purple, the 2013 Shiraz has pure blackberry and cassis aromas with pepper, earth and clove hints. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely purity and good concentration of fruit framed by soft, velvety tannins and a long, refreshing finish.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2011 Shiraz shows off an attractive aromatic core of ripe blackberry, mulberry and preserved plum accented by hints of star anise, cloves and thyme. Medium to full-bodied, it packs the flavor into a modest-sized package along with medium level, rounded tannins and lively acid to support. It finishes long. Drink it now to 2017+.
