The 2010 Blanc des Rosis comes across as one-dimensional and heavy. There is plenty of depth and muscle in the fruit, but less in the way of aromatic complexity. Perhaps further bottle age will help, but for now I am skeptical this wine will ever be in balance. Blanc des Rosis is Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla. The 2009 Blanc des Rosis is a blend of Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Ribolla. In theory, the blend should allow for greater room in dealing with the challenges of a tricky vintages than is generally possible with single-variety wines. The Blanc des Rosis shows excellent freshness and length in its perfumed, floral white stone fruits. Still, all of the elements never fully come together in the glass. The 2008 Blanc de Rosis reveals gorgeous purity and textural richness in its enveloping, generous ripe peaches, apricots, flowers and spices. The Blanc de Rosis usually needs a few years in bottle to blossom, and the 2008 is shaping up quite nicely at this stage. Blanc des Rosis is a blend of Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Ribolla. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. This is a beautiful set of new releases from the Schiopetto family. The 2007 Blanc de Rosis is excellent in this vintage. The wine offers lovely balance and harmony, with plenty of ripe fruit and terrific depth. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
