This is sweet and nicely fizzy with notes of rosemary, honeydew melon, peaches and orange blossom. Vibrant, fruity and pleasing, with excellent concentration and persistence. Drink now. Screw cap.

The pretty 2018 Moscato d'Asti pours to a creamy and foamy appearance and pale gold luminosity. The wine is beautifully fragrant with white flower, star jasmine and honey. As the wine warms in the glass, you might notice some dried sage or oregano leaf. The effect is very Mediterrean and bright. That subtle sweetness hits the spot (and is balanced against the wine's natural freshness). The alcohol content of the wine is a mere 5.5%.

The 2017 Moscato d'Asti is especially bright and fruity in this extremely hot and dry vintage. You feel that extra concentration of fruit with summer peach, honeysuckle, star jasmine and yellow rose. Moscato d'Asti traditionally offers a foamy and creamy bubble quality, and you get that here in generous supply. The creaminess of the mouthfeel plus that sweet residual sugar find excellent balance. The alcohol is 6%. This is a leading wine of the appellation. Moscato d'Asti is best when consumed immediately, but you could push this wine a few years more.

This wine comes to us from one of the finest producers of sweet Moscato that I know of. The Saracco 2016 Moscato d'Asti is a fresh and cheerful wine that is best consumed young when those aromas are so pure and beautiful. The bouquet is redolent of honey, sweet peach and exotic fruit. In the mouth, the wine is creamy and rich. This vintage strikes me as particularly well put together and articulate.

The 2015 Moscato d'Asti shows sweet sensations of honey, white flower and citrus. The wine is fresh and buoyant with herbs and chopped sage at the back. Light effervescence adds to the wine's intensity and momentum. There is enormous softness here with creamy vanilla and tangy orange twist. This is a delicious Moscato d'Asti that is best consumed within the next 12 months.
