The Mastroberardino 2021 Irpinia Falanghina Morabianca is delicately redolent of passion fruit, star fruit, unripe banana, crushed mineral and something mildly spicy like aniseed or dried ginger. This is a fresh and easy-drinking wine to employ on informal occasions with finger foods or fried appetizers.

The 2017 Irpinia Falanghina Morabianca is a very fresh and clean white wine with a snappy, crisp finish. This is the kind of wine you want to drink by the pool on a warm and sunny afternoon. The bouquet delivers white peach, melon, citrus and crushed mineral. This Falanghina is all about simplicity and freshness.

The 2014 Irpinia Falanghina Morabianca sees fruit sourced from the 60-hectare Mirabella vineyard to the north of Taurasi with volcanic soils and layers of ash. Fruit is harvested three weeks later than in the Sannio area that is also known for Falanghina. Those mineral-rich conditions have helped to shape a very pleasantly fragrant wine that is redolent of white flowers, peach blossom and crushed white stone. There is a saline, mineral note at the back that gives the wine focus and definition. This Falanghina shows more depth and personality than most.

The fact that the production of the Morabianca is 1/20th of the Falanghina Sannio is not lost. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
