The characterful, expressive and elegant single-vineyard white 2018 Coma Alta comes from a plot of barely one hectare of Garnacha Blanca that was planted in 2000 on clay and limestone soils and harvested early to keep good acidity. This is fresh and varietal with generous waxy apples, plenty of dried flowers, herbs and smoky and spicy notes from 50% of the volume spending nine months in 500-liter barrels. 3,968 bottles were filled in June 2019.

The single-vineyard white 2017 Coma Alta comes from the La Coma Valley, one of the five valleys within the property and one of the healthiest because of the southeast Garbinada winds. The plot of barely one hectare was planted in 2000 on clay and limestone soils and is harvested early to keep good acidity, as Garnacha Blanca can have a tendency toward opulence. This vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 2010, and the wine was partially fermented in barrel (30%). But for the last 10 years, they have strived to avoid too much oak in the wines, and this comes through as vertical and fresh within its powerful and Mediterranean profile. It has volume and very good acidity, coming through as dry and tasty, with an almost salty twist in the finish. 2,967 bottles were filled in May 2018. The wine feels young and undeveloped, with years ahead of it.

The expressive and characterful white 2016 Coma Alta shows notes of acacia flowers, nuts and a touch of camphor, with powerful aromatics. The palate is beautifully textured and has superb balance, clean flavors and a long-lasting finish. It's a blend of Garnacha Blanca grapes from the five valleys within the Mas d'en Gil estate and has 14% alcohol. Thirty percent of the volume fermented in used 500-liter oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel, where the wines matured for five months. It has great complexity. This could be the finest vintage to date. 3,868 bottles were filled in May 2017.

The creamy and floral 2014 Coma Alta was produced with grapes from a single vineyard in one of the five valleys existing in the Mas d'en Gil property. It has notes of pollen, dried flowers and beeswax intermixed with hints of fennel and a spicy and lactic touch. The palate is intensely tasty, with pungent flavors, very spicy and with very good freshness, coming through as a very balanced, tasty white already developing some complexity. 4,768 bottles were filled in May 2015.

The 2103 Coma Alta is pure Garnacha Blanca planted in 1999 in the Coma valley, one of the five valleys existing in the Mas d'en Gil estate, on clay and limestone soils. The grapes are harvested in two tries, the first one for freshness, and the second one for more ripeness. Thirty percent of the volume fermented in 500-liter French oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks where the wines matured for five months. I think the limestone translates into a serious profile and a sharp palate with an almost salty finish. The oak is very nicely folded into the wine and only adds some nice texture. This is a very elegant and fresh Garnacha Blanca from a very cool vintage that provided wines with good acidity. It feels like a great vintage of Coma Alta. There are 6,158 bottles produced.
