The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very refined bouquet that shows a little more precision and focus than the Clos de Vougeot: bright black cherry and cassis fruit, nicely integrated new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, veins of orange peel developing towards the structured finish with good persistence in the mouth. Maybe I would have liked a little more finesse, but otherwise, this is a well-crafted Charmes-Chambertin.
