Drouhin's 2019 Santenay has turned out nicely, benefiting from all the charm and generosity of the vintage. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of raspberries, cherries, blueberries and forest floor, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with lively acids, melting tannins and a fleshy core of fruit. It's a fine cuvée from this venerable Beaunois négociant.

The 2017 Santenay wafts from the glass with scents of wild berries, bitter rose hips, cassis bud and forest floor, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate that's quite supple and charming for a young red from this commune, its impressively refined tannins and lively acids concealed by an inviting core of tangy fruit.

The 2015 Santenay from Domaine Joseph Drouhin offers up aromas of blood orange, earth, fallen leaves and subtle red fruit. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, sappy and expansive, with a bright line of acidity, an open-knit core and moderate concentration.

The 2014 Santenay Villages was completely destemmed. It has impressive fruit intensity on the nose: raspberry preserve and Morello, a hint of cassis coming through with time. The palate is sweet on the entry with bitter cherry and strawberry notes, soft and supple, light tannin with a mellow, easy drinking finish.
