From an estate next to Chapoutier's Domaine Saint-Etienne, the 2018 Costières de Nimes la Ciboise is a dark, tank-aged blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Marselan. Black cherries and purple raspberries appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is juicy and supple, leading into a mouthwatering finish.

Michel Chapoutier said the 2017 Costieres de Nimes la Ciboise comes from deeper soils that weren't adversely affected by the hot, dry summer. It's a full-bodied 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah led by raspberry and black olive notes; it starts off creamy and supple but acquires a bit of chewiness on the finish. It should drink well for 3-4 years.

Like the other Southern Rh?ne regional wines from Chapoutier, the 2016 Costieres de Nimes La Ciboise is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. It's a plush, easygoing wine to drink in its first 3-4 years for its dark plum and blueberry fruit and dusting of cracked pepper.
