Livon's 2011 Schioppettino Picotis opens to earthy and autumnal tones of wet leaf, forest floor and wild forest berry. There is a distant hint of saddle leather that could worsen with time, although I'm not too worried about it now. In fact, it blows off quickly. But I would suggest a short drinking window to be on the safe side. This is a medium-bodied red wine made with the native Schioppettino grape that is characterized by earthy aromas and raw fruit flavors.
