The 2000 Chardonnay Wildwood Vineyard's flamboyant nose reveals copious quantities of tropical fruit intermixed with obvious toast. This dense, rich, concentrated effort possesses full body as well as good vibrancy because of the acid levels. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years. While this easy to like, accessible effort lacks complexity, it is a faithful representation of its varietal character, and is meant to offer plenty of up-front fruit as well as pleasure. The wine was produced from 100% estate fruit from the Kunde family vineyards in Sonoma Valley. There has been considerable replanting of some of Kunde's major vineyards.Tel. The 1999 Chardonnay Wildwood Vineyard possesses high acidity as well as alcohol. A high-toned, austere, mineral-dominated effort, it exhibits a crisp personality, excellent concentration, and notes of lemon, grapefruit, white peaches, and wet stones. The aroma is a great burst of mineral and tropical fruit, so good you just have to taste it. Follows through brilliantly, with all sorts of fruit flavors, lavishly oaked and with a steely, stony nerve. The finish is spicy and acidic.
