The 2007 RED LEG SHIRAZ & ARAGONES FALUA, is named after the red legged partridge common to Alentejo (owner Joao Portugal Ramos is a hunter). It comes with a screw cap. This is a rather simple wine, grapey, soft and Beaujolais-esque, with obvious flavors and a straightforward feel. It does taste pretty good and it has just enough tannins to make it seem like real wine. Note that this wine only contains Falua’s name, not Ramos’. For consistency, I have grouped it here with Ramos’ Falua products. Drink now-2010. Iconic Southern winemaker Joao Portugal Ramos has many brands, Falua/Vimioso for his Ribatejo property, the low cost Loios brand, the single vineyard Vicosa, Vila Santa and the flagship Marques de Borba in Alentejo.
