The 2011 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano shows a pretty garnet color with a good level of saturation that never goes over the top. The wine offers grit and determination without feeling heavy or flat. The fact that the acidic component is so well integrated gives this Vino Nobile an edge above the rest. The wine offers bright energy and tension as well. This well priced wine is a blend of 90% Sangiovese with smaller parts Merlot, Colorino and Canaille aged in oak for 18 months.

The 2010 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a wine that presents itself in three parts. Part one is the fresh cherry and blackberry fruit that is still clinging on despite the wine's age. Part two is the evolved nature of the bouquet that shows spice, licorice and dried tobacco. And part three is a somewhere in-between place where you recognize a wine that is both young and old at the same time.

The 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is strikingly beautiful. It possesses gorgeous aromatic nuance and delineation to complement its expressive fruit. This is a flashy Vino Nobile. All of the elements are in the right place. This flashy style seeks opulence over pure varietal and regional character, but it works. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
