The 2019 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard was barrel fermented and matured for 14 months in 19% new French oak. Shy to begin, it unfurls to scents of lemon, lime and candied orange, plus accents of iodine and saline, an alluring introduction to the expansive, textural, full-bodied palate. It surprises with its intense, juicy fruits, dynamic flavors and extended, concentrated finish. It's a rare combination of hedonism and energy that will offer dynamic expression as it matures over the next decade in bottle. 250 cases were made.

The 2018 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard was 100% barrel fermented in French oak barrels, 32% new, and aged for 15 months. It rocks up with open-knit scents of peach cobbler, apple crumble and gingersnap with suggestions of white pepper, almond croissant and oyster shell. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals loads of nuanced layers with a lively line lifting the stone fruit and apple flavors to a long finish. 308 cases were made.

The 2017 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard is a little youthfully mute at this stage, giving up notions of baked pears, peach cobbler and lemongrass with touches of pie crust and chopped nuts. Medium-bodied, the palate gives a great intensity of pure, well-defined apples and pears flavors, structured with a refreshing backbone, finishing chalky. 274 cases were made.

The 2016 Hartford Court Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard reveals gregarious pink grapefruit, apple pie and green mango notions with nuances of marzipan, crusty bread and wet pebbles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is solidly structured with great freshness, lifting the intense, tightly wound layers to a long earthy/minerally finish. 327 cases produced.

The 2014 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard is from a hillside vineyard in the very cool-climate Green Valley, not far from the little “hippie” town of Forestville. Aged in 38% new French oak, the wine offers a light gold color with a greenish hue, hints of tangerine oil, pineapple, white peach and citrus. This is rich, full-bodied and stunningly proportioned, and much like all the other Chardonnays, the oak is very subtle and nuanced. This is another tour de force in Chardonnay winemaking from winemaker Jeff Stewart.
