There is one white wine in the current collection, the 2010 Beso de Vino Macabeo which was fermented and raised in stainless steel. Passion fruit and melon intermingle with earthy minerals in the wine’s inviting nose. This leads to a wine with excellent depth and concentration for its humble price. Drink this lengthy bargain-priced offering over the next 12-18 months. Grandes Vinos y Vinedos is a large cooperative in the DO of Carinena, a region which I visited in 2011. Once neglected, it is now producing numerous excellent value priced wines from the old vines that are being revitalized.
