A broad, solidly built red, with plum and cherry fruit framed by vanilla, caramel, leather and menthol accents. Reveals muscular tannins that exert themselves on the lingering, spicy finish. With fruit from the Altare family's historic vineyard, with rows that descend from the panoramic terrace in front of the tasting room, comes the 2019 Barolo Arborina. This wine boasts a unique flavor profile with more emphasis on tart fruit, cassis and crisp cherry. The wine is soft and velvety to the palate, and it shows finely integrated tannins coupled with a solid textural frame. Arborina is not one of the historic crus of the appellation, but it is an excellent site that is celebrated for its consistent wines.

This is bursting with red berries -- strawberry, currant and cherry -- shaded by floral and rose hip accents. Firm and lively, with a sleek frame and a long, fruit-tinged aftertaste. The 2018 Barolo Arborina is born close to home, in the sunrise-facing vineyard that starts just below the family house and winery. This pretty wine reveals a delicate embroidery of wild rose, rusted nail, spice and clove-dotted orange. Barrel aging is with 20% new oak for 24 months. The finish is long and linear, ending with a powerful 15% alcohol. This vintage saw 6,200 bottles released.
