This winery continues to demonstrate a Midas touch with their two flagship wines, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The nicely concentrated, medium to full-bodied 2008 Chardonnay offers up notes of pineapple, orange rind and a touch of honey. The brilliant 2007 Chardonnay, which comes from the Star Vineyard in Rutherford, reveals a light greenish/gold tint to its color in addition to a beautiful bouquet of honeyed lemon blossom, citrus oil, nectarines, and oranges. Good acidity, medium to full body, and a youthful but promising personality suggest it will evolve nicely for 5-7 years.
