The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets has turned out beautifully, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, licorice, rose petals, spices and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's seamless and complete, with beautifully refined tannins, racy acids and a long, saline finish.

The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets wafts from the glass with aromas of red berries, plums, rose petals, sweet spices, forest floor and savory bass notes. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's supple and sensual, with fine, melting tannins and lively acids. It's one of the most elegant, ethereal wines in the range.

Wafting from the glass with lovely aromas of peonies, wild berries, coniferous forest floor and raw cocoa, Bouley's 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is medium to full-bodied, bright and perfumed, with a sumptuous attack, melting tannins and lively acids, concluding with a pure, mineral finish. Surpassing its performance from barrel, this has turned out especially well.

Bouley's vines in this parcel are only 14 years old, but the 2017 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of wild berries, raw cocoa, rose petals and dried flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, its structuring tannins entirely concealed by charmingly juicy fruit, its finish long and pure.
