The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Les Bressandes was only slightly affected by the frost and yields came in at around 35 hectoliters per hectare. It has a tightly wound bouquet that demanded encouragement from the glass. I would be looking for a little more vigor once this is in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. Here there is more class: the character of the premier cru translated on the mineral-tinged finish, with a satisfying aftertaste. Hopefully, the aromatics will just find their voice once in bottle, so afford it a couple of years in bottle.

The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru les Bressandes was noticeably deeper in color that it's Savigny "siblings". The bouquet is extroverted with black cherries, Indian ink and touches of vanilla - well defined and generous. The palate is leaning towards redcurrant and strawberry fruit, the acidity nicely defined with a precise, quite tensile finish. This has an effortless charm.

The 2014 Beaune 1Er Cru les Bressandes has a deep, broody, quite "forceful" nose that felt a little "blocky" following on from Pavelot's excellent Savigny-les-Beaune. The palate is medium-bodied, a little chewy in the mouth with moderate acidity. There is good density here, though I am seeking more finesse and delineation to come through on the finish.
